PROBONO School Partnerships for One World e.V. is a charitable non-profit relief organization which systematically promotes school partnerships between German and African schools. Our goals are: aiding education at African schools while promoting social consciousness as well as global learning at both German and African partner schools.
Sustainable solutions improve education
We provide funding forschool buildings, school equipment, teaching materials, training for students in need, etc. in Africa. Our support is not one-off or short-term - our main objective is the sustainable improvement of the educational situation at African schools in cooperation with the German partner schools. We regularly visit our partner schools and support projects in person. In addition, we maintain continuous supervision of ongoing projects and partner schools by our local colleague on site.
Furthering dialogue and meeting of the cultures
We initiate dialogue/communication projects in order to encourage and further dialogue between the partner schools in Africa and Germany. These workshops are a mutual learning experience for the African and German students, raising cultural understanding and promoting global learning.
The organisation
PROBONO was founded in 2004. We currently consult and support 24 school-partnerships in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and South Africa. Our organisation has provided supervision and advancement of over 80 educational projects in said key geographical area.The PROBONO team consists of six employees, two of whom work on a volunteer basis, working in Germany and Tanzania.
