Twenty-five secondary schools in Tanzania and Uganda are currently participating in the PROBONO Entrepreneurship Program (PEP), in which young people learn the theory and practice of starting and running a business at their schools. To this end, they set up small student companies, such as hair salons and snack shops, or produce soap, flower pots, and notebooks. There is a lot to consider and many challenges to overcome. Creativity is required.

Two volunteers with extensive experience and expertise visited young entrepreneurs at several schools this year and supported them with ideas and further inspiration. Philipp Lex worked as a volunteer for the help alliance in Uganda. With practical workshops and a great deal of passion, he took the marketing of the school companies to the next level, among other things. In Tanzania, start-up expert Thomas Eberle, an employee of the science and technology company Merck, visited the PEP clubs at several schools and worked with them to develop the next steps for expanding and innovating their student companies. Last but not least, he taught the boys and girls how important it is to think outside the box, activate their special potential, and not be discouraged by failures as entrepreneurs.
