With the help of PROBONO, the Tingatinga boarding school in Sanya Juu, Tanzania, has now made a quantum leap: a computer room where boarding school students can learn how to use computers and which gives them access to digital learning materials and knowledge from around the world.

Previously, the school had only one computer. This meant that information technology could only be taught in theory, contrary to the curriculum. The construction and equipping of the computer room, where 60 students can be taught on 30 computers, has also significantly improved the opportunities for independent learning at Tingatinga School. The students are now learning to research information from various sources, critically evaluate it, and deepen their knowledge independently. This promotes their educational and career prospects and increases their chances of overcoming poverty.

Tingatinga Secondary School is a public school in a Maasai settlement area about 70 km northwest of Moshi in the Longido District. It is located in a very dry area in a corridor between Arusha National Park and Kilimanjaro National Park. More than 1,000 students live in the boarding school on the school grounds.
