About Us

„PROBONO's vision is to realize the idea of One World by promoting school partnerships between the North and South—a world in which people from different cultures learn from each other, fight poverty together, and take responsibility for the future of the planet.“

What is PROBONO committed to?

PROBONO School Partnerships for One World is a non-profit charitable organization that has been promoting school education in East Africa since 2004 and arranges, advises, and supports partnerships between schools in Germany and schools in Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya.

We support our African partner schools with teaching materials, school buildings, and projects to improve water, electricity, and internet access, among other things.

We are fully committed to long-term teacher training, child-friendly schools, improving child protection, and strengthening career prospects. We support girls and boys in particular need with scholarships. Our support is not one-off or selective, but aims to improve the educational situation in the South in the long term through long-standing cooperation.

Within the framework of North-South school partnerships, we initiate dialogue and intercultural learning projects, support partner schools in communication, and advise on exchange trips.

The geographical focus of our work is in Tanzania and Uganda. In Kenya, we cooperate with a primary school.

PROBONO is non-partisan and non-denominational and is a founding member of the Development Policy Network Hesse (EPN).
